This comes after fake notifications received by it’s users, encourages them to transfer their funds to other e-wallets.

Coins.ph has advised its users to ignore fraudulent notifications and emails circulating online that attempt to redirect users to phishing webpages. The messages reportedly pose as legitimate platform alerts, instructing users to change their passwords or move funds to external wallet addresses.

The advisory came after multiple users reported receiving suspicious notifications and emails appearing to originate from an official @coinsph sender on Saturday evening of March 7, 2026.

Following the reports, Coins.ph issued a clarification stating that the messages did not originate from the platform.

“Coins.ph will never ask users to transfer or move their funds to external wallet addresses via email.”

“The wallet addresses included in the fraudulent message have already been identified and blacklisted by our security team.”

“Our teams remain actively monitoring the situation and implementing additional safeguards to protect our community.”

The statement was released through the company’s official social media accounts.

Meanwhile, Wei Zhou addressed the situation in a reply to a post on X, assuring users that “funds [are] safe.” He added that “Only email/app notification vendor account was compromised.”

Users are advised to verify any account-related alerts directly through the official Coins.ph app and avoid clicking links from unsolicited messages. (via Jay-ar Grate, Tekku Philippines)
