Infinix Note 60 marks a serious turn for the brand

A couple of years ago, Infinix partnered with BMW Designworks to give the Infinix NOTE 30 VIP some much needed buzz and pizazz to show the world that they were a brand to be taken seriously.

Now, with the upcoming Infinix Note 60 Ultra, the Transsion brand finally gets to shed its ‘for budget-conscious reputation’ to something that’s refined and confident. Italian design house company Pininfarina applied their signature touch for the smartphone and the result is a sleek and futuristic design.

The Note 60 Ultra also features a carbon fiber back-like cover and it is available in four colors: Black, Red, Turquoise, and Silver. The main highlight however, is the unique bump that houses three cameras and a small glyph-like interface to the side. Below, the Pininfarina logo is etched.

Other specifications like a 6.78-inch, 1.5k curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of internal storage. Powering the device is a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultimate SoC, while its cameras consist of a 200-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), 8 MP ultrawide, and a mystery 50 MP camera that we guess as a telephoto. For the selfie camera, it has 32 MP.

It has a 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. It runs on Android 16 with Infinix’s own XOS 16 skin on top. Based on some pictures, the box for this smartphone will include two cases— one regular, one with faux leather. There’s also a powerbank and a wireless charger.

It’s great to see Infinix’s evolution from a humble brand that focuses on budget conscious consumers in the beginning, now to a brand that confidently explores possibilities and new design languages while still having a competitive price point.

Regarding its price and availability, no pricing or exact date yet confirmed this year, but it’s safe to say that it will launch here in the country due to Transsion’s market share and popularity. | by Dan Manjares
