Chinese technology giant OnePlus is reportedly venturing into the handheld scene as the brand is caught working on a handheld console.

In a Gizmochina report, OnePlus President Li Jie (on the right) can be seen showing the illustration of what appears to be a gaming device. Although the illustration may be a rough sketch, it seems enough to depict a gaming console.

Meanwhile, a leaked render of the device suggests that the console will be on an Android-based system, and is said to be touchscreen-first. Meaning, most of the interaction will be done via the console's touchscreen display.

It is also expected to feature an improved version of multi-finger input, with reduced latency, and higher refresh rates. There were also mentions of system-level optimizations for titles like Delta Force and PUBG Mobile.

Aside from the confirmation of the console's development, no other details of the device were mentioned. But, on the same report, the device is said to feature an 8-inch display, which may be powered by a MediaTek chipset.
