The Minecraft universe has never been this expansive, ever.

Originally an area exclusively featured from Minecraft Dungeons II, this new dimension brings a vibrant, colorful environment amongst the array of existing dimensions currently present in Minecraft; contrasting the desolate aura of the End, and the hostile, burning environment of the Nether. This is also the first time that the same feature update gets dropped on both games.
When released, this now becomes the fourth playable dimension of the game, alongside the Overworld, Nether, and the End.
Its surprise announcement by Mojang brought immense joy to its existing player base, both from the base game, and Minecraft Dungeons II, envisioning entirely new possibilities in strategic gameplay with new mobs to fight and hunt, expansive creativity with its colorful new blocks and aesthetic properties, and a total shake-up to its current lore which apparently connects itself strongly with the Deep Dark in which where the Warden mob resides.
Little is yet known as to what this new dimension brings to the game, but it is said that the method of entry is far different than how one would; before entering either the Nether, or the End
As per preview material from Minecraft Dungeons II, entering the Sift requires discovering a mysterious-looking structure from the Deep Dark biome, thus interacting with things such as note blocks, the goat horn material, and by interacting with a new, upcoming passive mob called the "The Singer" to activate the portal. Doing this takes the player towards the new Sift dimension.

Entering the Sift takes the player into a place where its landscape is unlike anything from the latter dimensions inside the game. In this area, expect colorful, vibrant sculk-like structures which are overtly consumed by rich and luscious vegetation.

The all-new Sift dimension opens its portals first on Minecraft Dungeons II by September 29, 2026 for the PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X/S (with Day One eligibility on XBOX Game Pass), Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via the Microsoft Store and Steam. This is the canonically recommended way to experience the new dimension before it makes its way towards Minecraft.
