vivo has announced the X500, alongside the X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max, in China.
Launched as part of the X500 series, the flagship trio from the Chinese smartphone maker marks the brand's latest partnership with MediaTek, as the X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max are two of the first phones to launch with the Dimensity 9600 chip, while the vanilla X500 model launches with Dimensity 9600M, which is said to be a rebadge of last year's Dimensity 9500.

The vivo X500 is built around a 6.59-inch display in an AMOLED panel. It has a 144Hz refresh rate and a 50MP front-facing camera, alongside a triple-camera configuration located at the rear: 50MP primary, 64MP periscope telephoto, and 50MP ultra-wide.

Running on Android 17-based OriginOS 7, the vivo X500 is powered by the aforementioned Dimensity 9600M chip, paired with 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The processor is joined by a 7,500mAh battery with 90W wired charging and 40W for wireless.

The vivo X500 carries a starting price tag of CNY 5,499 (~roughly US $819; PHP 51.4K) for the 12GB + 256GB memory configuration. Meanwhile, 12GB + 512GB and 12GB + 1TB models are priced CNY 5,999 (~US $893; PHP 56.1K), and CNY 6,999 (~US $1,042; PHP 65.5K) respectively.
Available in White, Gray, and Black color options, the vivo X500 is now open for pre-orders in China with open sales starting September 24.
