REDMAGIC has recently confirmed the release date of the 11S Pro, the brand's upcoming flagship smartphone, in China, marking the next release of the brand's top-of-the-line gaming smartphone.

The phone, which launches May 18, highlights the Nubia gaming sub-brand's ambitious return in the mobile gaming scene. Aside from the launch date, the brand has also shared details hyping up the smartphone launch, revealing key specifications of the device.

The REDMAGIC 11S Pro will be using a "Leading Version" of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. If that naming scheme rings a bell, it's similar to the "for Galaxy" editions found on Samsung smartphones.

Comparing both the 8 Elite Gen 5 "Leading Version" and "for Galaxy" editions side to side, it can be seen that the former matches the latter in terms of frequency, as per a GSMArena report, which suggests that both chipsets run on 4.74GHz.

Basically, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 "Leading Version" is an overclocked version of the regular 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. For reference, the regular 8 Elite Gen 5 is clocked at 4.61GHz.

Aside from the key details shared by the brand, the REDMAGIC also revealed the color variants of the 11S Pro, which will come in Silver Wing and Dark Night.

It also carries a transparent design reminiscent of last year's REDMAGIC 11 Pro, sharing other noticeable visual cues such as the AquaCore liquid cooling system and the REDMAGIC emblem on the upper right of the rear panel.

Meanwhile, the REDMAGIC 11S Pro is speculated to sport a 6.85-inch AMOLED display, an invisible in-display front-facing camera, and an 8,000mAh battery that charges at 80W.

No other details were mentioned, but more information will be revealed in the coming days. At the same time, pre-orders are now open for the device in China.
